The primary objective of the farm is to model farming for the children. In so doing the farm provides products for use in the home and sale of excess products to generate income to the home. The department comprises the dairy(four dairy cows), the poultry(four poultry houses with a capacity of approximately 900 chicks at a time) and horticulture (through green house and open farm for the production of tomatoes, capsicum, cucumbers, Kales, Spinach, Cabbage, Managu, Egg plant to mention a few). It is efficiently being managed by a trained agriculturalist with a passion for farming.
There are four dairy cows kept at the centre. Three of them are currently being milked, providing about 50 litres of milk per day. This provides the home and the school with milk for use. Any surplus milk is sold externally to increase income to the centre.
The centre practices both greenhouse farming and open farming. The green house mainly focuses on production of tomatoes, capsicum, cucumbers, egg plant just to mention but a few. These products are substantially meant for commercial use. A good proportion of the products are equally meant for home use.The open farm caters for the growing of different kinds of vegetables which include Kales, Spinach, Cabbage, Managu just to mention but a few. The products from this farm are primarily for home use. However, any possible surplus are sold to generate more income to the centre
The centre has four poultry houses with a capacity of approximately 900 chicks at a given time. There has been steady supply of chicken to Christian guest houses with the city of Nairobi. There is a great potential to scale up these sales to generate substantial income to the centre.
